I’ve had a love for graphics, art, sports, and computers since a very young age and thus computer animation caught my attention. Essentially computer animation is a blend of everything I love. I call it Art in Motion.
I started my career in graphic and web design, with the ultimate goal of working in computer animation. My career path paid off as I started with school, then got a job as a Designer and continued to upgrade my skills at the same time. When the time was right, I left my job and moved to Vancouver to further my education at Capilano College focusing on my goal in Computer Animation. I was asked to submit my first demo reel to Relic Entertainment half way through the year. After I graduated I was hired by Relic Entertainment and have been there ever since.
I am a versatile artist with a diverse skill set. At times I’ve had to juggle supervising a team while creating characters, completing production tasks (i.e. Publisher requests) with little or no warning/time, and also having to take on the job of UI artist on top of all this. Under the tightest of deadlines and heaviest of pressures, I have always been a person you can count of for support.
I am well-rounded in modeling, texturing, and design but have also completed tasks involving rigging and animation. Therefore I consider myself a valuable asset to any company that can utilize any or all of my skills. It has been a pleasure to work for such an artistically creative company that focuses on quality, thus the reason for longer development cycles.
During my spare time I play a lot of sports, namely hockey. Growing up in small town Manitoba, you can say that hockey is in my blood. I’m a goaltender and love to play at a competitive level. I played high school hockey and Junior B in Manitoba for 7 years and was goaltender of the year 4 times. (Really it was the cool equipment that caught my attention!) The most important things I’ve learned from sports are team work and dedication.
I have always been a fan of video games. I like to play a lot of multiplayer games like sports, RTS, and action genres. Lately I’ve been addicted to the awesome artistic direction and gameplay of God of War. It’s easily one of my favorite games. The next-generation of consoles offer so much to the new wave of games, and I’m excited to be a part of it!
Bold and Beautiful. That’s my motto. My passion in this industry is to model and texture characters. I like to create easily recognizable characters using high detail and clean textures, much like a superhero in comics.
